Ceyhan Elmas
Ceyhan Elmas’s journey into the world of perfumery began in Europe in 2004.

Perfume was not, in fact, the reason he went to Europe. What began with a different line of work and a different plan for his life gradually took an entirely new direction. As his curiosity about perfume grew, he realised that being in Europe gave him an important advantage: access to the right knowledge, the right people, and the heart of the craft.
At the time, many resources, raw materials, specialists, and working practices that were much harder to reach from Türkiye were close at hand in Europe. When you are genuinely curious about a field, being able to meet the people working in it, visit different perfume houses, discover raw materials, and observe approaches at the centre of the industry makes a considerable difference.
For Ceyhan Elmas, this was one of his greatest opportunities.
His first serious step into perfumery came when he had the opportunity to work alongside a dear friend who was doing successful work in the field. His friend opened the door to this world, allowing curiosity to gradually become a professional journey.
The early years were devoted to learning and observation.
During this time, he began to discover that a perfume simply smelling beautiful was not enough. Its raw materials, balance, formula, relationship with the skin, and the way it transformed over time all mattered.
He worked alongside his friend for a long time. Later, he broadened his experience in different places, with different teams and working cultures. He observed work done well, encountered different approaches, gathered knowledge, and gradually began to develop his own perspective.
The roughly seven years between 2004 and 2011 were, for him, a period of apprenticeship, development, and finding his own language.
He did not only learn the technical side of perfumery. He also noticed his own taste, perception of scent, and approach to design slowly taking shape.
At a certain point, the question “Is this a beautiful perfume?” was no longer enough.
Other questions took its place:
“What kind of perfume do I want to create?”
“What is the feeling I want to convey?”
“What should someone feel when they wear a fragrance I have designed?”
This was where the real transformation began.
By 2011, he felt it was time to bring together everything he had learned, observed, and experienced over the years under his own signature.
The idea behind it was simple:
“If I have learned this craft, if I can design my own perfumes, why not share them with people under my own brand?”
Fratelli Diamanti was born from precisely this thought.
For this reason, 2011 was not merely the year a brand was founded. It marked the transition from years of learning to a new chapter in which he put forward his own signature.
The same thought remains at the heart of Ceyhan Elmas’s approach to perfume today:
What makes a perfume valuable is not simply the names of its notes. What matters is the composition those notes create together, and what it makes a person feel.
Just as a single instrument cannot describe an entire piece of music, a single note cannot describe the character of a perfume. For him, perfume is therefore always a design that must be considered as a whole.
One of the phrases that best expresses this approach is:
“Perfume is the garment of clothing.”
Just as people express themselves through what they wear, their perfume is their invisible signature.
Over time, Fratelli Diamanti took shape around this understanding.
Naturalness, elegance, detail, family, and quiet luxury…
Traces of Ceyhan Elmas’s personal life can be found in many of the brand’s details. The two stones on the Shades of Grey bottle, for example, represent his two daughters. Many elements within the brand’s world are therefore more than aesthetic choices; they carry a personal story.
Today, the collection includes many perfumes with different characters. But for Ceyhan Elmas, what mattered was never that people should choose a perfume simply by looking at a list of notes.
What he wants is for a person to form a connection with a scent.
To notice how it changes on their skin.
To remember a moment, a person, a city, or sometimes a feeling they cannot quite name.
Because, in his view, a good perfume is not merely smelled.
It is lived.
Today, the perfume house in Nişantaşı, the private fragrance evenings, new designs, and different projects are all a continuation of this long journey.
Yet its starting point remains clear:
A life journey that began in Europe in 2004, originally for a different purpose…
An opportunity that came from meeting the right people at the right time…
Years of learning, observation, and experience…
And finally, Fratelli Diamanti, beginning with the words: “Now I want to tell my own story.”
That journey continues today.
For Ceyhan Elmas, perfume has never been a finished product. It is a world that keeps developing and changing, and one he learns anew with every design.
